Since 2017, Areteem Institute and ZIML have been proud to work with the LA County Office of Education (visit the LACOE website here) as problem writers and partners in the LA County Math Field Day.

This years contest (to be held April 25th, 2020) has been canceled, but we want to continue to give students an opportunity to participate online. Due to this change, we are inviting all students, regardless of whether they were registered to compete in this year's LA County Math Field Day, to join an Online Math Field Day Competition from April 24th - April 26th, 2020.

The Online Math Field Day Contest will consist of 8 different grade level exams, starting with grade 4 and ending with grade 11.

Students can take the exams at any point Friday through Sunday, but once started, each exam has a time limit of 1 hour. Each exam has 15 questions: 10 Math Field Day Multiple Choice Questions (Computational/Procedural Skills) and 5 numerical answer questions from old ZIML Monthly Contests. These ZIML questions are meant to challenge the problem solving skills of students.

  • Grades 4-8 will feature questions based on Common Core standards for each respective grade.
  • Grades 9-11 will feature questions based on Common Core standards for Math I, II, and III respectively.

All students in grades 4 - 11 are invited (regardless of location) to the online competition.

Click here to register and join the Online Math Field Day. You will be prompted to create a free account if you do not already have one. Advance registration is not required, but it is recommended students create a free account and practice with Daily Magic Spells to get comfortable with the online question system before the contest. Any students who have done previous Monthly Contests will also be familiar with the online question system.

Teachers and coaches who want help registering their students in bulk can contact us at info@areteem.org. More information about LA County Math Field day is available here on our Math Field Day page on areteem.org.
